Nothing has released a new update for Nothing Phone 1 users worldwide. The new update comes with a lot of new features, bug fixes, and performance enhancements, including seamless integration with ChatGPT.
The company is still rolling out the new Nothing OS 2.5.5 update for its users. If you have still not received the update you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > System > System Update > Download > Install. If the update is not yet available, it is expected to arrive in the coming days.
With the latest update, Nothing Phone 1 brings support for a new gesture option within the Nothing X application, allowing them to initiate voice conversations with ChatGPT. This feature currently works with the recently launched Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A true wireless earphones, requiring users to have the latest version of ChatGPT from the Play Store installed on their handsets. The company has also promised to extend ChatGPT integration to other Nothing audio products soon.
Additionally, the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update introduces a new ChatGPT widget, enabling users to access ChatGPT directly from the home screen. Furthermore, the update enhances user convenience with a new button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up, facilitating seamless content pasting into ChatGPT conversations.
other additions include the option to apply the Nothing Icon Pack exclusively to the Home Screen, enhancing App Drawer accessibility, and improved reorganisation of app icons on the Home Screen. Users can now customise the Quick Setting swipe-down page on their lock screen through Settings > Lock Screen and AOD > Quick Settings, and access new customisable icon options within the status bar via Settings > Display > Status Bar. The update also introduces a RAM Booster feature accessible via Settings > System > RAM Booster.
Nothing emphasizes the use of AI-backed algorithms for “smarter lighting adjustments for auto-brightness” and improves the layout of Quick Settings tiles for enhanced accessibility. Additionally, users can expect new animations for Quick Settings widgets, faster Bluetooth toggling response, and an optimized volume settings experience.
Furthermore, the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update addresses various issues, including automatic Wi-Fi disconnection, screenshot frame display and editing, and vibration feedback inconsistencies. It also resolves issues related to earbud volume synchronisation and audio switching during calls when paired with other devices.
